World March of Women 2000 – Is the March for Women or Against Women? by Msgr. Vincent Foy

Foreword

It was distressing to countless Catholics that the World March of Women (2000) was endorsed by many Catholic organizations, even the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. The main objection to the March was that its sponsors insisted that its aims include the “right” to abortion. The present paper was not published in any periodical, but was sent to Canada’s Apostolic Nuncio, and sent to every Canadian bishop.

This article was written in 2001 to underscore the root cause of the horrendous evil of abortion, namely, the contraceptive mentality. It first appeared in Catholic Insight. It was reprinted and widely distributed by St. Joseph’s Workers for Life and Family. Reprints were also published in The Wanderer of August 16, 2001 and in This Rock magazine, March 2002 under the title “The Nineveh Solution”.

Contraception versus Abortion A Comparison and Some Implications

“Humanae Vitae”: Failure to Freedom

by Monsignor Vincent Foy P.H., J.C.D.

Preface

The title I had given this article was “Humanae Vitae: 31 Years On”, because it was a response to an article entitled “Humanae Vitae: 30 Years On”. The latter article appeared in the Dominican Review “Doctrine and Life” of January 1999. It was a vicious attack on the encyclical. My attention appeared in the July-August 2000 issue of Catholic Insight under the title “Humanae Vitae”: Failure to Freedom. I sent a copy to the author and the editor of “Doctrine and Life” but received no reply.
